GS-911 Function Chart

Key:

• CAN-bus : the new data bus that interconnects the Control units on the newer models - this was first released on the R1200GS in 2004. See a nice description of the CAN-bus by Anton Largiader
• (non-CAN) : earlier motorcycle models that do not have the new CAN-bus system - sometime difficult to tell apart if you have an older 1200, but if it has a choke, it's definitely not a CAN-bus model...
• ABS-II : Also known as ABS-2 - the predecessor to integral ABS (iABS, also known as servo assisted) on most R850, R1100, R1150 and older K1200 models
• 2-spark : in 2004 the F650-, R1150-Series and R1100S got two spark plugs per cylinder to eliminate surging some owners experienced and improve emissions.
